SNMP 
SNMP - Simple Network Management Protocol. It is a standard protocol that can be used for managing & monitoring Networks.

Java is a "simple, object-oriented, interpreted, robust, secure, architecture-neutral, portable, high-performance, multithreaded, and dynamic language."   

 

System Requirement is as follows

Operating System: Windows 98 / NT / 2000 or Linux 

Hardware: No need of some special hardware.
