History

Yoga literally means union. Union of soul with God!? More likely, that of mind and body.

Hatha yoga is mainly practiced for health and vitality.

There are four main branches of yoga. Dhyana or Raja yoga, Karma yoga, Jnana yoga, and Bhakti yoga. Dhyana yoga is essentially meditation. Its aim is to allow a person to withdraw her senses from outside interferences and concentrate mind on one object. Karma yoga referes to the action of doing good to others. Jnana yoga, the yoga of knowledge, uses logic and wisdom to realize THE TRUTH! Bhakti yoga involves devotion to God.
