Google Weather Maps is now
Weather Bonk

Weather Bonk lets you view real time weather information on a google map. This can provide some very interesting information, particularly in areas with microclimates, such as San Francisco. For example, summer in San Francisco can be particularly cold and foggy, and this map can help you to find a sunnier area of the city to visit. Clicking on the web cams give you a visual observation from a given location. Looking at wind direction can help you locate approaching weather fronts.

Most of the data comes from personal weather stations that are run from homes and schools. Weather Underground and Weather Bug are two of the major sites that compile this data. By default the map only displays Weather Underground data. Selecting 'Weather Bug' will display additional points but may take longer. Note: Weather Maps is not affiliated with either of these sites. Now exports to kml file format.

Try exporting weather station data and then overlay radar information. Click screenshot on right for more detail. Radar information is overlayed on map where darker colors represent higher activity. Download Google Earth. Radar information from NOAA. A guide to understanding radar data and key is available here. Weather Maps currently displays Short Range Base Reflectivity, but others to come soon You no longer need Google earth to view the overlays. Weather maps will list available overlays based on your query.

Bay fog is an experimental overlay that uses real-time visual satellite infomation provided by NASA to let you view low-lying clouds. Visible satellite functionality to come to other locations soon. Note: there are a number of browser specific issues when displaying overlays. Firefox is the preferred browser. On Internet explorer, it can not display a PNG overlay with a transparency value, so the background color will display on your screen(currently only an issue for fog overlay). On firefox, radar images lose color information if you zoom in too much. If you have other issues, please let me know.
